Measure your gains in pursuing your goals to boost your confidence. This is an idea from Dan Sullivan, which I discovered thanks to a great article from Benjamin Hardy.
We tend to focus on how we’re falling short of our goals. This can easily lead to discouragement. Instead, we can intentionally, purposefully focus more on our achievements. We can look back over the day, the last thirty days, and the last ninety days and count up our wins. This feels great, and naturally leads to confidence and motivation in racking up even more wins in the next X days.
Something I’m trying: every night I put down three wins I had that day, and three wins I intend to have the next day. This way I always feel that I am making progress, and I am always challenging myself to keep the momentum going.
